Behind the wheel: how every trip runs

Fair, real cost trip splitting with no awkward payment reminders.

Fair cost split, zero profit

Drivers do not make a commercial profit. Costs are calculated purely on fuel consumption and fair wear-and-tear proportional to actual kilometres travelled.

Making commuting more affordable for all

Optimised pickups & live arrival

Routes adjust for smooth pickups along the commute. Passengers receive alerts as the driver nears the pickup spot (e.g. 5 mins out).

Driver arriving in 5 mins

Fair proportional distance pricing

If one passenger joins in Midrand and another gets in at Centurion, each passenger pays strictly for their specific segment. Nobody overpays.

Midrand → Waterfall (12km)R 26.50
Centurion → Rosebank (38km)R 62.00

Snapscan QR code payment

Every passenger gets a unique QR code for their leg of the trip. Scan to pay the driver before pulling away, no bank details exchanged, no cash, no chasing.

Instant SnapScan settlement
Funds clear directly to driver wallet

Driver fee waiver option

Drivers can choose to waive a passenger's fee at any time (e.g. treating a colleague or covering a specific Friday run). The system reduces the amount the driver receives by that passenger's trip cost.

Why individuals choose Asambe Commute

Split the commuting costs

The real cost of the trip is split fairly between everyone in the car. Everyone pays less than they would driving alone, and the driver recovers a share of the cost from the passengers who join.

Reduced environmental impact

Ridesharing significantly reduces the environmental impact of driving alone and the emission savings are tracked through the app over time.

Building networks with colleagues

Every trip is a chance to connect with people from your community or workplace, turning time in the car into time with colleagues and friends.

Reduced traffic on the roads

Fewer single-occupancy cars making the same trip means less congestion, a benefit that extends beyond just the people sharing the ride.
